There are a lot of interesting history facts about Indiana.
-In 1679, the french explorer Robert Cavelier, Sieur de la Salla, crossed Indiana on the St. Joseph and Kankakee rivers.
-1704 to 1732, the french build Fort Miami, Fort Quiatenon and Vincenss.
-1763, the french and indian war ends with a treaty.
-1779, George Roger Clark establishes control of Vincenss.
-1813, the capitol of the Indiana territory is moved to Corydon.
-1906, The city of Gary is founded by the United States Steel Corparations.
-1956, The Northern Indiana Toll Road is completed.
-1962, Congress agrees to let Indiana have its first National Park--the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial.
-1988, State voters approve a state lottery.

 
Economy
Indiana is the smallest state in the west. Although very small, Indiana has the rank of 14 in the population count. The most important of the industries of Indiana is the retailsale and the wholesale. Manufacturing accounts for 28% of the states industry income. This is because of the many railways and subways of Indiana. The state also has 11,300 miles of interstate highway. Indiana produces 23 million tons of raw steel a year. After the civil war, Indiana started mining because that hadn't been done in the state.
